We are the children’s safeguarding board for Kingston & Richmond, we work with all organisations to promote, Safeguarding children – the action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm – is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play.
We co-ordinate safeguarding through each of the partnership’s subgroups, as well as a number of specific safeguarding subgroups to carry out its functions.The LSCB develops, monitors and reviews child protection and child safety policies, procedures and practice within Kingston & Richmond. It also co-ordinates and provides inter-agency training for staff across the borough who work with children and families.
The LSCB’s job is to have an overview of how effectively children are safeguarded and identify improvements where necessary. For this reason, the LSCB is an independent body that can check on the work of all organisations working with children and families.
