Citizens Advice blog about the Universal Credit national project

Here is the link to the Cit A blog about the latest funding for us to help people make and manage Universal Credit claims. In Kingston, we will build on the excellent working relationships that we have already established through our kiaa network ( Kingston Information and Advice Alliance).

Some people have expressed concern lest the funding from government means that Citizens Advice can’t campaign for changes in Universal Credit any more. The simple answer is – no it doesn’t mean that. The contract recognises our independence and our campaigning role. After all it is how we have worked with local authorities for years and years- they fund us and we support people who need help to challenge the authority and we gather evidence to help us to campaign for change where there is injustice.
