Here is our report on the HSF work we undertook in partnership with RBK
The headlines are that our team of 13 worked to support 125 local people to claim and RBK paid out £54,000 to them in total over a 6 week period.
The stories of human misery that were shared with us were shocking – but probably all too familiar in these times of harsh economic stresses and strains. We heard of women fleeing domestic abuse with children and not having cookers or washing machines so struggling to care for their family as they hoped to. We heard of parents making the choice between food and fuel and for it to have shifted from heat or eat to freeze or starve for some of them.
Our team worried about what next for people like these clients now that the fund has all been paid out? We are still here to help with our cost of living crisis toolkit and are putting together a project to help people find the help they need to ease financial pressure wherever possible – watch this space for more info…
