CAKingston and our help for people affected by rising costs…

We are often asked for some details of what help people need in relation to the cost of living rises- is it help with benefit claims, or debts, or housing, or fuel bills or something else?

The short answer is that it is all of the above ..

Citizens Advice has devised a dashboard to show the queries that come to local services up and down the country and it is free and open for anyone to view and join the monthly online briefing sessions – here is the link

and here is a rough snapshot of the data and what we are seeing locally – for instance, our issuing of food bank vouchers has gone through the roof  with as many vouchers issued in one quarter as the whole of the year before..

If someone needs help from us the best way to contact us is by email form on our website – or the other way is to phone (02031660953) and leave a name and number and we will get back in touch. We then either phone and talk to the client or send them information by text. Even working flat out we can’t talk to everyone who needs us at the moment, but we do know that far more people are using our self help materials and online toolkits – last month it was about 2800 people using this information – our contract pays for 450 people per month to do this…so no one is left without contact or help from us…
