Here is an item about Housing Associations calling for changes to UC following increases in rent arrears which they attribute to UC.
and here is an item from the Guardian which deals with the National Audit Office report on UC and responses to it..
Clearly there have been significant problems for claimants in areas where UC has been rolled out so far. Hopefully for local residents these problems will be minimized and mitigated due to the excellent partnership working we have established through the kiaa network and the co-location of the JCP at the Guildhall.
Nevertheless, we can’t be complacent as there are some issues that are intrinsic to the regulations and legislation. So where we find that things have run as they should for a client, but there is injustice as a consequence, CAK can help by raising the issue at a national level and calling on policy makers to make changes so that people’s lives improve…all part of the service 🙂
