Domestic and Sexual Violence Partnership conference Nov 28th… book now

Here is the message from Kavitha:

I would like to invite you to the annual Domestic & Sexual Violence Partnership conference on Thursday, November 28th 2019.   The conference is an integral part of RBK’s awareness raising campaign around 16 days of activism – 16 days to highlight the need for elimination of violence against women and girls. The morning session of the conference is open to all professionals – This session will have renowned keynote speakers, providing insights into the barriers that ‘hidden’ victim survivors of domestic and sexual abuse face.   This will be followed by lunch and networking opportunities.  The afternoon session will be open to all practitioners and will include workshops (Led by our local domestic abuse service – Refuge) to discuss agency response and good practice.
Themes and the respective keynote speakers for the morning session are:

1) Introduction & Local Response – Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar, the BCU Commander for South West London

2) Survivors of Honour-Based Violence – Polly Harrar, CEO, The Sharan Project

3) LGBT+ Survivors – Peter Kelly, Services Manager, Galop LGBT+ Anti-Violence Charity

4) Elderly Victim Survivors (includes adult child to parent violence) – Thien Trang Nguyen-Phan, Project Officer at Standing Together Against Domestic Violence & PhD Candidate.
