Thank you to everyone who came along to the kiaa event yesterday – our ‘Marketplace’.
We had 14 stalls with a good mix from RBK as well as the VCS and about 40 people attended.
People said it was a great opportunity to find out more about what each other do for local people and , as I wandered around the room, I heard ‘Oh, I didn’t know you did that…’ again and again. As the purpose of the event was to find out who does what that was music to my ears..
The idea came up that maybe we could have a mini marketplace at each event – a couple of tables at the back of the hall for us to share materials and info about our services. This would mean that, while people grabbed a sandwich or a cake, they could check out what’s new and who does what – to keep up to date.
Do you think that would work?
Our next event for your diary is September 18th from 1-3 at the URC and will be a workshop to find out our training needs on Universal Credit now that the rollout is well underway. Our tutor – Steve Johnson will lead the workshop and then design a course for us based on training needs identified by the group- a truly bespoke service. 🙂
